Family...and Friends that Basically are Family

Let me first start off my stating that I love no longer using Facebook. It has been one week so far and I am still going strong. This has been a fairly eventful week in the life of Kim. My eye infections still have not gone away, but hopefully they will soon get better. On Friday morning my grandma passed away. She fell last month, broke her hip, and was not healing well due to her old age. I am extremely thankful for the knowledge that I have of the Plan of Salvation. I know that my grandma is now resting peacefully in heaven with my grandpa and uncle. I also know that I will get to see her again one day.
Today I took advantage of the warm weather and went to a few garage sales. I got a clock that I think is absolutely adorable for only one dollar! I cannot wait for it to be yard sale season again. Good deals are out there and I am determined to find them. I spent the remainder of my day at the Gingell home playing a forever long game of Chutes and Ladders with Graysen, Tic Tac Toe, and putting off homework. I must say it was a great day!
I was hoping to hear back about a job that I interviewed for on Tuesday at some point today, but unfortunately I have yet to hear anything. I am hoping that I will get the job and have the opportunity to have a new experience this summer, but I shall wait patiently and see. Anyways, this blog post basically sums up my week in a few short paragraphs.
Lesson of the week: Use coupons when shopping:)

Actively Searching and Waiting

"I was hiding under your porch because I love you. "-Dug (from the movie "UP")
Today I have been thinking a lot about this quote. I know that there is something great in store for me this summer, the last one before I graduate from college, and I am in need of finding what it is. It is crazy to think that my college career is soon to end and I will have to get a real job. Anyways, I have applied for a few jobs for the summer, but unfortunately none of them were right.....so, I am now right back where I started. I know that the Lord is looking out for me though and that I will find a job for the summer if it is what is right. Just like Dug (the dog), I know that my Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ are always there for me and that they love me. What God has in store for each of our lives cannot be found written on a piece of paper. Instead, we need to actively seek his help in knowing what he wants for us to do with our lives and most importantly we need to TRUST him!
The next quote that I keep thinking of is "Whoa, that's gonna be like a billion transfers to get back to my house..."-Russel
I absolutely love this quote! Although Russel was half way across the world from his home, he never once stated that it was going to be too hard to get back home. He knew that he would eventually get home and was willing to put in the work required to get there. I am thankful for the every day experiences that I have that are constantly shaping me to become the person that I am meant to be and fulfilling my purpose here on Earth. I hope that I can consistently strive to have a better attitude about the road blocks that are placed in my life and find joy in the journey.
